Q: What inspires you about Bremerton?
A: The one thing that inspires me about Bremerton is the beauty of the natural surroundings. The water is beautiful, the mountains both intimidating and awe inspiring and the weather is amazing!
Q: What drew you to your medium?
A: I always knew I wanted to make something with my hands. Rope basketry came to me on a whim. Once I made my first basket 5 years ago, I haven't stopped since. Everyday, I learn something new about my medium.
Q: What is your favorite local spot?
A: I love food! So you can find me at El Balcon getting a burrito when I want something quick and tasty, or 4 Sisters in East Bremerton for some of the best Pho I've ever had.
Q: Where do you find inspiration?
A: I find inspiration in all the places I've lived and visited. Water is a big source of inspiration for me throughout my career, and since last year flowers have really sparked my interests and inspired me to shape my basket into new more organic forms.
Q: What does your perfect First Friday look like?
A: A beautifully warm evening strolling downtown with my husband. A cold drink in one hand and a tasty snack in the other, checking out the local art and music. Oh my, that would be so perfect.
