Ally Poole

We are excited to introduce you to artist Ally Poole!

Q: Where do you find inspiration?

A: I find I am most inspired when I go for a hike or take a walk around my neighborhood. (Or explore a new place! ) It forces me look at things for what they are and I find it very meditative. A lot of plants actually have these incredible patterns, which I believe shows up in my artwork. I am also very inspired by any and all types of faces 🤗.

Q: What is your favorite local spot?

A: Definitely El Balcon!!! Seriously the best tacos in the area in my opinion.
I also love walking over the Manette bridge. The views there are just incredible.

Q: What drew you to your medium?

A: I like to use different types of mediums, such as ink pen, watercolor, and digital art. Right now I am focusing on digital art because I believe it is an incredible skill to learn. It's a totally different experience than with the other mediums I have dealt with. Digital art is super convenient because I don't have to go buy paints or pens, it's all on my tablet. I also don't have to worry about perfect lighting when posting/uploading the image. There is a lot more flexibility when it comes to doing digital art. The artist is in complete control. If I was in the mood for art that felt more free flowing and less in control (loosey goosey) , I'd definitely go for the watercolors!
